Thatched palapas, hammocks and colourful cabins among the jungle in the garden of Casa Las Lolas

Xpujil · Calakmul · Campeche

A house in the jungle, at the gates of Calakmul.

Cabins and apartments among palapas, hammocks and whitewashed trees. A pool open all year, jungle quiet, and town a five-minute walk away.

Day

Squirrels on the trunks, toucans up high and the pool waiting.

The house

Made for resting between expeditions.

Casa Las Lolas is a cluster of cabins wrapped in jungle in Xpujil, the gateway town of Calakmul. Forest calm with everything close: the bus station, ATMs, pharmacies and tour services are under five minutes on foot.

The terrace brings mornings full of birdsong and starry nights. Whitewashed trunks, palapas and colourful walls are as much a part of the house as the jungle around it.

“It is always a pleasure to welcome people who visit the region and admire its natural and cultural wealth. Calakmul is a very special place; we want to help protect this great Biosphere Reserve.”
